Charleston Oral Surgeon, Dr. Ratliff

Meet John W. Ratliff, DDS

Oral surgeon, Dr. John Ratliff, DDS
Dr. Ratliff hails from the top-tier LSU Health Sciences Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Program, where he was named chief resident in his last year and received a broad scope of training.

He graduated at the top of his class at Texas A&M Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas. During his time at dental school, Dr. Ratliff was awarded the Baylor Oral Health Centennial Award given to the student who demonstrates excellence in professionalism, leadership, clinical dentistry, patient management and professional service.

Dr. Ratliff graduated from Honors College at The University of Mississippi, while playing for the Rebels as a walk on wide receiver. He has carried his passion for excellent patient care and advanced learning throughout each step of his education and training.

Dr. Ratliff is a native of Fort Worth, Texas, but it only took one trip to the Lowcountry for him to know that Charleston was his future home. He and his wife are eager to join the Charleston community with their growing family.

When Dr. Ratliff is not in the operating room or seeing patients, he fulfills his passion for football and impacting the youth. In 2015, he and his brother started The You Gotta Believe Football Camp, a non-profit summer camp held in Mississippi, to teach the upcoming student athletes the importance of working hard on and off the field.

Dr. Ratliff looks forward to serving patients in the Charleston area and delivering the highest quality of patient care.
